Ein bisschen Sommer/ A litte summer

Schon im July fand eine Zeremonie in unsere lokalen Kirche für Flyn und Noah anlässlich ihrer Taufe statt. Wir wollten das auch ein wenig hier mit einbringen, denn schliesslich gehen wir ja hier zur Kirche. Leider blieb Flyn nicht vorne bei uns, sondern wollt lieber bei seine Freunden sitzen und wär Snow nicht so lieb gewesen ein paar Fotos zu machen, gäbs an dieser Stelle wohl eher nichts zu berichten.

Already in July we had a thanksgiving service at our local church for Noah & Flyn. we wanted them to be welcomed in our local church, as we are attending as we are attending a local church here and felt like it should be somehow recognised. Unfortunatly Flyn did not want to stay with us when we did our reading, but preferred to sit with his friends. And if our lovely friend Snow would not have taken some nice photos we would probably not have much to talk about at this point.


Gefeiert wurde aber nicht eine typische Taufe, sondern wir haben ein Kindersommerfest gemacht, was glaub ich das Geburtstag feiern recht schön ersetzt, was wir bei Flyn und Noah bisher nicht gross feiern. Dafür erfreute uns Hullabaloo, unsere wöchentliche
Musikklasse kam zu uns und gestaltete das Fest. Amy und ihre Musik sind einfach wunderbar ansteckend.

We however did not celebrate a typical christening, but made a summer party for all the children and families we knew, which kind of replaces birthday parties the boys don't really have. Hullabaloo our local music lesson came to us to entertain the children. Amy and her music are just wonderful contagious.

Einen kleinen Organisierkreis hatte ich gefunden und so sah unsere Tafel sehr einladend aus. Besondern Dank an die vielen Kuchen, die Ariane beisteuerte und auch sonst war alles ganz toll, was die einzelnen so beisteuerten. Ich war heilfroh nicht für so viele Leute alles allein machen zu müssen. Von herzhaft bis süss war alles dabei und die Erwachsenen durften sich auch an Pimms erfreuen. Das rundete den Sommer nochmal so richtig ab.

A small circle of people had formed to help me with the food and our table looked very inviting. special thanks to Ariane for the many cakes she made and also everyone else had down wonderful things. I was every relieved not to have to cater for so many people all by myself. From savoury to sweet and for the adult was also a treat of Pimms there. It rounded the summery feeling.



Ihr könnt Euch gar nicht vorstellen, wie gut es mir hier ging und wie sehr ich meine zwei Besucher genossen habe ... zum eine lag das daran, dass wir hier zu viert (mit Oda)in einem Pub in Camden in Erinnerungen schwelgen und ich mal ausnahmsweise 'Ausgang ohne Kinder und Mann' hatte. Zum anderen aber waren meine Besucher einfach zwei ganz ganz liebe Gäste ....

You can't imagine, how well I was here and how much I enjoyed my two German visitors ... partly because we are sitting here in a pub in Camden (with Oda) and talked about old times and people we all know/ knew and I was out without children and husband, which is an exception. The other reason for my good mood was simply that these two guests were just very very nice ...

... which my boys also really liked. May be this is because they are also brother, just like my two ...

... doch zuvor hatten Oma, Opa und Onkel Thomas noch eine Überraschung für die beiden Täuflinge:

The two of them had to work hard, but planted their own tree

Möge die Elsbeere wachsen und gedeihen und möge der Opa mal ab und an nach ihm schauen :-)
May the chequer tree may grow to be strong and may the Opa look after it from time to time :-)

Es gibt eine Urkunde zur Erinnerung

... und dann wird natürlich angestossen, wie dass bei uns so üblich ist. Der Rotkäppchen Sekt wird ausgepackt ...
... and traditionell we drink Sekt, a kind of champagne if you like, the local 'juice' is called 'little red riding hood' and its yummy ...

... and of course one must not forget the boys they get Kindersekt

Ganz da hinten auf dem Bild sieht man die winzig klein Kapelle in der unsere Söhne getauft wurden. Ach war das schön und gemütlich dort und im Haus hier vorn durfte gefeiert werden und dort haben wir uns aber auch wieder ausgeruht und unsere Nächte verbracht
